Can blogshops make money?

Posted by sabrina On May - 6 - 2009 1 COMMENT

Businessmen/women will tell you that building a successful business doesn’t just happen overnight. Daryl Kang, 29, an Entrepreneur and a blogger says, “It takes at least two to three years before you can see results.” Generally, it takes (at least) months before you can even conclude whether or not his/her business venture is even able to survive in the industry, much less talk about making profits.

A blogshop is the combination of the word blog + shop, which means opening an online shop using a blog.

7 proven strategies for improving your Alexa ranking

Posted by sabrina On March - 4 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

By Michael Fleischner | Marketing Expert | Internet Marketing Secrets

After spending two years building my own website, I was very disappointed that my Alexa ranking was still higher than one million. Alexa ranks each website based on the number of visitors it receives. The top ranked website, Yahoo! has an Alexa rating of 1 or 2. Less popular sites could be ranked up to 5,000,000.

In order to improve my Alexa rating, I spent about three weeks combing the web to find tips, secrets, and proven strategies for increasing my Alexa ranking. Unfortunately, many of the sites offering advice didn’t even have a high ranking themselves. Finally I discovered a number of sites ranked within the top 100,000 that were all applying the same “Alexa techniques” to improve their ranking. I’ve begun implementing a number of these techniques and have improved my Alexa ranking by 250,000 spots in just one week. Read the rest of this entry »

Imho, even if you’re by occupation a journalist/writer, it still doesn’t mean that you naturally have the ability to become a blogger – you’d probably have the writing skills but not necessary the desire.

Come to think of it, I know a good example of one like that – *ahem* Teddy *ahem* bear *ahem*. And that’s why I “killed my boyfriend’s blog“. Hurhur. Read the rest of this entry »

12 reasons why most bloggers don’t make much money online

Posted by sabrina On April - 15 - 2008 1 COMMENT

There are a million and one ways to make an extra buck and blogging is definitely one of the easier choices to go about. However, despite all the free advice available to those who want to blog to earn a living, the vast majority just don’t make much money.

A blogger will read a blog that says a number of other things to help make money online, but to no avail.

The thing is, as many methods as there are to make the extra buck, there are probably just as many (or more) reasons why a blogger, for this case, just can’t seem to earn a decent income from his or her blog(s). And today, I’m going to discuss the 10 of which I currently have in mind. Read the rest of this entry »

7 steps to choosing the right web host

Posted by sabrina On March - 19 - 2008 2 COMMENTS

With all the competing web hosting service providers out there, you may find it hard to get the right web hosting choice. So here’s my supposed: 7 steps to choosing the right web host!

First things first, I would state that cost is not everything. It’s good if it’s cheap no doubt, but if you’re paying, let’s say, a dollar for your hosting and your site is goes up and down like a roller coaster, is there a point to begin with?

At the end of the day, you’ll end up losing precious time, and even money over these avoidable problems. Read the rest of this entry »
