The world has gone haywire. And “they” decided that 6-year-old children may be a threat to the nation?

“The insanity of the nanny state has reached a new low with news out of New York that Zachary Christie, a 6-year-old student is facing reform school after taking a cub scout utensil to school.”

Zachary Christie recently joined the Cub Scouts and was given a camping knife complete with fork, knife, spoon and can opener for camping trips. Like most kids with new toys, he brought it around with him, even to school to eat his lunch with.

“On Tuesday, September 29th, Zachary brought his camping utensil to school to use at lunch (spoon, fork, bottle opener, and knife). As he was getting off the bus, a teacher asked him what he was holding in his hand. Zachary showed it to her and explained why he had brought it… to eat his lunch. The teacher gave the utensil to the principal, at which point Zach was suspended from school pending a school district hearing.”

New York schools have a zero tolerance policy on knives, and according to the New York Times, school officials concluded that he had violated their policy on weapons, so Zachary was suspended from school and now faces 45 days in the district’s reform school.

Okay, seriously, this is waaay too extreme.
